Darkwood is a crucial resource for upgrading your Farmer's Workbench in Hytale. But what is Darkwood, and how can you collect it?
Getting your hands on Darkwood is simple once you understand where to search in Hytale. However, this resource goes by a different name in the world of Orbis. Here's a comprehensive guide on how to acquire Darkwood in Hytale.
How to Acquire Darkwood in Hytale
Currently, Darkwood can be obtained by farming Cedar Logs in Hytale. If you’re looking to upgrade your Farmer's Workbench and require 40 Darkwood, you can satisfy this requirement with 40 Cedar Logs.
The closely resembling Fir Logs, which can be found alongside Cedar Logs, do not count towards this requirement. Therefore, it’s essential to ensure you’re cutting down Cedar Logs exclusively.
Cedar Logs can be readily found throughout the tundra forests of Orbis. Keep an eye out for snowy mountains enveloped in forests. In the accompanying image, I am situated in a brown forested area adjacent to a snowy tundra, where Cedar Logs can be plentiful. This location is part of the Whisperfrost Frontiers Zone of Orbis!
Cedar Logs share a similar appearance with Fir Logs, except they have a blue tint to their leaves. I am currently using the EyeSpy mod from CurseForge for easier identification, but it’s relatively easy to distinguish them at a glance!
When exploring, make sure to hunt for thick Cedar Logs. You might encounter thinner Cedar Logs, but they will not drop the required logs for upgrades.
After collecting at least 40 of the full-sized Cedar Logs, you can proceed to upgrade your Farmer's Workbench, as they will meet the Darkwood requirement!
