Mastering the Watering Can in Animal Crossing: New Horizons

Getting a Watering Can in Animal Crossing: New Horizons will ensure you have the right tool to create beautiful scenery.

You can plant a variety of beautiful flowers and useful crops like Pumpkins across your island in Animal Crossing: New Horizons. However, to keep them alive and maximize your profits, you'll need a Watering Can.

Here's how to obtain a Watering Can in Animal Crossing: New Horizons, along with how to use it and details about all Watering Can types.

How to get a Watering Can in New Horizons

There are a few different Watering Cans in New Horizons. The ones you can craft from materials found on your island include the Flimsy Watering Can, the Watering Can, and the Golden Watering Can. Other variations, including the Flimsy kind, can be purchased from Nook's Cranny.

You'll receive the recipe for the Flimsy Watering Can after donating four Bugs or Fish to Tom Nook. The standard Watering Can recipe can be acquired by spending 3,000 Nook Miles to purchase the 'Pretty Good Tools' recipe pack from Nook Stop in Resident Services.

The Flimsy Watering Can will break after 30 uses, but it's also part of the recipe for the more durable Watering Can.

The Golden Watering Can, a special tool, can be unlocked by receiving its recipe from Isabelle once your island achieves five-star status.

How to use a Watering Can in New Horizons

To use a Watering Can, equip it from your pockets or quick-tool menu. Approach the flower or crop you want to water and press A — it's that simple!

Using the Watering Can on flowers or crops that have already been watered will not degrade your tool, but using it on unwatered ones will. You can identify which plants need watering by checking for droplets. Be sure not to water anything if it's raining, as the rain will do the job for you!

That's all for now! For more guidance on Animal Crossing: New Horizons, consider exploring our articles on obtaining a Fishing Rod, a Shovel, or an Axe.
