Mo3 Murder Case: Trial Delays for Alleged Killer and Yella Beezy Faces Legal Woes

The murder case surrounding the late rapper Mo3 is taking unexpected turns in the courtroom, affecting both of the central figures in this tragic narrative. Dallas rapper Yella Beezy is struggling with his own legal challenges, while the trial of the alleged gunman, Kewon White, has hit a significant delay.

According to reports, both prosecutors and defense lawyers for Kewon White are unable to sift through all the evidence before the originally scheduled trial date of February 2. White's attorney, Bree West, pushed back against the inclusion of gang-related evidence, insisting that such claims should be heard separately from the jury to prevent biases.

In a surprising twist, prosecutors have secured the rights to photograph White's tattoos, a crucial aspect of their case that they argue ties him to gang affiliations. The legal teams are set to regroup next week in hopes of establishing a new trial date while requesting additional time to review the vast amount of evidence.

Kewon White is currently facing nearly nine years behind bars for a gun charge, which will run concurrently with any sentence stemming from the murder case if he’s convicted.

When Is Yella Beezy's Trial?

Meanwhile, Yella Beezy's defense team is contending with an overwhelming amount of evidence, making effective preparation for the trial increasingly difficult. This evidence includes surveillance footage captured by 18-wheelers that recorded the harrowing highway chase leading to Mo3's tragic passing in 2020. Phone records are reportedly set to corroborate claims that Yella Beezy orchestrated the murder via Kewon White.

Despite the gravity of the situation, both rappers had previously tried to downplay rumors of animosity before Mo3's death. Currently, Yella Beezy remains free on a $750,000 bond stemming from his arrest last March on capital murder charges.

As of now, Yella Beezy's case has a crucial hearing scheduled for today (Friday, January 16), with the actual trial commencement projected for February, assuming there are no further setbacks due to the defense's claims regarding an overload of evidence. Meanwhile, the legal community waits anxiously for updates on Kewon White's trial timeline.
