Nintendo Launches New Colorful Joy-Con 2 Controllers Ahead of Mario Tennis Release

Nintendo has unveiled its latest Joy-Con 2 color variants: Light Purple and Light Green. This vibrant addition introduces a pastel color scheme, perfect for enhancing your gaming setup. Preorders for this set, priced at $100, are currently available, with an official release date of February 12. Each duo also includes matching wrist straps.

These new controllers are not a complete redesign; the fresh colors primarily adorn the base of the thumbsticks and wrist straps. As such, the colors may not be as pronounced unless used individually during multiplayer activities, such as Mario Kart World.

Feature-wise, the Joy-Con 2s support motion controls, boast upgraded HD Rumble, and include NFC compatibility for Amiibo. Additionally, they are slightly larger than the original Switch Joy-Cons. A new Mouse Mode allows players to utilize the controllers like a computer mouse for select compatible games, including Metroid Prime 4 and Civilization 7.

Another noteworthy update is the introduction of a new C button, designed for easy access to the Switch 2's GameChat feature on the right controller. The improved magnetic connection ensures they secure firmly to the console.

Launching alongside these controllers is the highly anticipated Mario Tennis Fever, which is also set to debut on February 12. Players can preorder its physical edition at various retailers, including Amazon, Walmart, Target, Best Buy, and GameStop. The game remains compatible with the original Joy-Con controllers, which continue to be readily available.
