Nintendo Reflects on 2025: Check Your Switch Playtime Summary Now!

Nintendo is kicking off 2026 by reflecting on the past year with its annual year-in-review wrap-up for 2025. Although it’s customary for such summaries to be released in December, Nintendo opted for a January release this time, for reasons that remain unannounced.

This retrospective, which includes your December playtime, allows players to see how many hours they spent on their favorite titles, including Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, which may just be on your list of most-played games.

Your personalized summary highlights the total number of games played on both Switch and Switch 2, showcasing a month-by-month breakdown and your favorite game genres. You can even pick a favorite game to share a graphic summarizing your gaming data, and at the end, a free 2026 calendar can be downloaded for printing.

For those curious about their gaming history, Nintendo’s website allows access to Switch data dating back to the console’s launch in 2017. If you scroll to the bottom, a video summarizing historical data can also be downloaded.

2025 marked a significant year for Nintendo, highlighted by the launch of the Switch 2 in June which saw tremendous sales success. Notable titles released shortly after the Switch 2’s debut included Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, Kirby Air Riders, and Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Additionally, indie sensations such as Hollow Knight: Silksong and Hades 2 enriched the early software lineup, alongside multi-platform favorites like Cyberpunk 2077 and Star Wars Outlaws.

In the upcoming year, Switch 2 players can anticipate revisiting the addictive world of Animal Crossing: New Horizons with an affordable upgrade. New titles on the horizon include Mario Tennis Fever, The Duskbloods, and Yoshi and the Mysterious Book, alongside upcoming third-party games such as Resident Evil Requiem and 007 First Light.
