The Nintendo Switch 2 debuted to a strong reception following its launch in June 2025; however, recent reports suggest that its holiday sales may not have reached the heights seen by the original Switch during its inaugural season.
As noted by a recent report, sales for the Switch 2 in the United States have dropped by approximately 35% from November to December when comparing this period to the first holiday season of the original Switch in 2017. This trend aligns with findings from another study indicating that November 2025 recorded the lowest hardware sales in the U.S. since 1995.
