Former Orlando Pirates Star Mohau Nkota Embraces Al-Ettifaq Move
Mohau Nkota, the 20-year-old former attacker for Orlando Pirates, expressed that he feels no pressure after his surprising transfer to Saudi Arabian club Al-Ettifaq FC, which was officially announced on Sunday.
Nkata’s transition comes as he joins his new teammates for their pre-season tour in Portugal, where he will play alongside renowned former Liverpool midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum.
In an interview with SuperSportbet, Nkota shared his positive outlook regarding the move. He stated, “I don’t think there’s pressure on me to go there. I just want to go there to live the life, work, and be the person I am. Just do what I’ve been doing, and I’m also happy about the move to Saudi Arabia.”
While acknowledging that he will miss his close friend and teammate Relebohile Mofokeng—rumored to be making a move to PSV Eindhoven—Nkota is excited about his own prospects. Although unsure if his new position will enhance his chances to join the Bafana Bafana squad for the upcoming AFCON in Morocco, he remains optimistic: “If given an opportunity, I will perform to the best of my abilities,” he stated.
Reflecting on his recent successes, including a standout performance with two assists during a friendly match against Mozambique, Nkota remains focused on his role. “I’m going to make sure I deliver everything,” he concluded.
