Crystal Palace manager Oliver Glasner has announced he will depart the club at the end of the season.
The Austrian coach led Palace to their first major trophy last year, clinching the FA Cup by defeating Manchester City in the final, yet he has hesitated on a contract extension.
In a recent press conference, Glasner clarified his position, stating, "I already informed the club months ago that I wanted a new challenge." His confirmation comes as speculation about his future intensifies.
Glasner's Journey at Palace
Glasner took over at Crystal Palace in 2024, boasting an impressive background that includes winning the Europa League with Eintracht Frankfurt in 2022. After assuming the reins from Roy Hodgson, he finished his first season in 10th place, followed by a 12th-place finish, all while guiding the Eagles to an FA Cup victory and a 2025 Community Shield win against Liverpool.
This season, however, has been a struggle, with the team currently sitting in 13th place, prompting growing concerns regarding Glasner's future.
Additionally, Glasner hinted at potential changes within the squad, mentioning that team captain Marc Guehi is on the verge of a transfer to Manchester City, estimated at around £20 million.
As the Premier League resumes, Palace's next match will be against Sunderland.
