Peter Molyneux's Masters of Albion - which the game creator has referred to as the "culmination" of his life's work - has officially secured a release date.
Developed by Molyneux and 22cans, Masters of Albion will launch on April 22 for PC via Steam. According to the official Steam description, "Masters of Albion is a bold reimagining of the God Game genre, from the creator who defined it. Revel in the freedom of true Godhood. In Masters of Albion, there is no single solution, only your solution. Build whatever, wherever. Hire whoever, whenever. Kill or carry, crush or coax.
"You are the ultimate power."
Molyneux expressed that the upcoming title owes a great deal to other influential games, including Dungeon Keeper, Black & White, and Fable, all of which he contributed to.
"It's a totally unique game that we hope will delight players, a game that brings God Games into the modern gaming landscape and puts the genre firmly back on the map," the developer shared about Masters of Albion.
The game promises to allow players to wield ancient powers and shape the world as they see fit. The world of Albion is literally at your fingertips.
Masters of Albion was first unveiled during Gamescom Opening Night Live 2024. During an interview before the reveal, Molyneux stated, "I'm in my 60s now… My lifestyle is so awful. My life expectancy is probably measured in seconds rather than years. So if I'm going to design another game, it's got to matter."
