Orlando Pirates secured a crucial 2-0 victory against TS Galaxy at UJ Soweto Stadium on Saturday, moving to the top of the log in the DStv Diski Challenge.
The Buccaneers, who were sitting in second position with seven points from two wins and a draw this season, continued their unbeaten run with the win.
Before the match, Pirates were looking to maintain their strong form and extend their unbeaten streak. The win was a significant result for Pirates, who have been in impressive form this season.
Meanwhile, Golden Arrows continued to struggle, remaining the only team without a point after losing 2-1 to Orbit College at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium. In another match, Marumo Gallants beat Chippa United 3-2 at Dr. Molemela Stadium.
The Premier Soccer League (PSL) reserve league will continue on Sunday with five more games scheduled to take place at different venues.
Defending champions Kaizer Chiefs will look to bounce back from last week’s loss to TS Galaxy when they face AmaZulu at Wits Sturrock Park. Other matches include Siwelele facing Stellenbosch at UJ Soweto Stadium, while Durban City will be hosting Magesi at Chatsworth Stadium.
Polokwane City will face Sekhukhune United in the Limpopo Derby at Old Peter Mokaba Stadium, and the last game of the day will see Mamelodi Sundowns hosting Richards Bay at Tuks Stadium.
