Rwanda national team coach Adel Amrouche comments on Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari's situation.
The 26-year-old joined Kaizer Chiefs during the off-season from TS Galaxy.
Ntwari started last season as the number one goalkeeper, but after playing seven games, he was replaced by Brandon Peterson in November.
Peterson was then benched as Chiefs opted to field Bruce Bvuma, who represented the team in nearly all matches last season.
Despite limited playing time at Chiefs, Ntwari retains his role as the top goalkeeper for the Rwanda national team. Coach Amrouche insists Chiefs must either give him playing time or consider releasing him.
“I had a good discussion with Ilyes (Mzoughi), the (goalkeeper) coach of Kaizer Chiefs. I cannot interfere in the work of the coaches, but it was just communication to see how we can keep Fiacre in good shape and also at that level of competition,” Amrouche remarked.
He added, “It’s not easy, and I am happy to have that collaboration with the coaches everywhere, especially with the coaches for Kaizer Chiefs. I’ve never heard anything negative about his club from him. He loves his club. He has very good contact with his team, and also, his teammates love him.”
Amrouche expressed confidence in Ntwari, stating, “I’m happy he found me in the team because I gave him all that confidence.
