A South African man stirred up quite a buzz on social media after sharing a video clip of a Fox News broadcast that raised eyebrows across Mzansi. In this peculiar segment, a reporter made an offhand comment about tribes in South Africa supposedly 'begging for attention', leaving many viewers scratching their heads.
The televised discussion kicked off with two Fox News hosts analyzing global reactions to President Donald Trump. Laughably, the first anchor proclaimed that 'Trump Derangement Syndrome' had crossed borders, even citing a ritual performed by Peruvian shamans predicting the president's potential downfall. But things took a strange turn when the second reporter tossed in the unsolicited remark about South African tribes.
“I think even we've gotten to the point where tribes in South Africa are begging for attention, I mean, anything you say bad negative about President Trump is just a cry for help, this is crazy.”
South African journalist and TikToker @xolanibaloyi wasn’t having any of it. He questioned the bizarre leap from Peruvian shamans to South African tribes, admitting he was still trying to connect those dots. Adding to the roast, he pointed out that this kind of commentary from Fox News is par for the course given their obsession with all things Trump.
“They've been riding the Trump wave for likes on social media and viewership on their channels. This makes people question Fox News's journalistic integrity,” he quipped, suggesting they should just re-brand as 'Trump News.'
