The highly anticipated Soweto Derby between Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates is set to take center stage this weekend in the DStv Diski Challenge.
The two arch-rivals will lock horns in the final game of the weekend in the festival show at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium on Sunday at 15:00. The match promises to be a thrilling encounter, with both teams looking to make a statement in the league.
Currently, Pirates are riding high on top of the log with 25 points, having won eight games, drawn one, and lost just one.
Their impressive form suggests they will be a tough nut to crack for Amakhosi, who are struggling to find their footing this season.
Chiefs are currently in sixth position with 14 points, having won three games, drawn five, and lost two. Despite being the defending champions, Amakhosi will need to pull out all the stops to upset the Buccaneers.
Pirates, on the other hand, are looking to continue their good run and maintain their position at the top of the log. With their sights set on winning their maiden league title, they will be determined to see off the challenge from Amakhosi.
In other fixtures, Stellenbosch will welcome Mamelodi Sundowns at Solomon Mahlangu Stadium on Saturday at 12:00, then in the last game of the day on Saturday, we’ll see TS Galaxy take on Orbit College.
On Sunday, the Limpopo Derby will take place at 12:00, with Polokwane City hosting Magesi before the Soweto giants play against each other later on the day.
