Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed that all tickets for their Betway Premiership showdown against Orlando Pirates at Loftus Versfeld Stadium on Saturday have been sold out.
The two sides will meet in what is always one of the most highly anticipated fixtures on the South African football calendar, set to take place at the iconic football cathedral in Pretoria.
Sundowns currently sit at the top of the Betway Premiership standings with 21 points from 10 matches, while Pirates occupy third place with 18 points.
The Soweto giants have a game in hand, and a victory at Loftus — where they have not won a league match since 2018 — would see them close the gap on the league leaders.
In their last seven meetings across all competitions, Pirates have won three times, including their MTN8 semi-final second leg victory earlier this season, which they clinched on penalties.
Last season, Sundowns claimed a 4–1 win at Loftus Versfeld in the first-round fixture, while Pirates took revenge in the return leg with a 2–1 victory at FNB Stadium.
