Veteran centre-back Thiago Silva has made a stunning return to the European football scene.
The 41-year-old had previously returned to Brazil after leaving Chelsea in 2024, leading many to believe he was winding down his illustrious career.
However, that speculation has been put to rest this January, as he’s rejoined one of his former European clubs.

The no-nonsense defender boasts over 800 professional games played for clubs including Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and AC Milan.
Now, Silva aims to rectify his past experiences at a club where things may not have unfolded as expected.
It has been confirmed that Silva has signed a short-term deal with Porto that will last until the end of the season.
Silva initially signed with the Portuguese team during the winter transfer window of 2005, making just reserve appearances before moving to Dynamo Moscow that same summer.
His last tenure in Europe was with Chelsea, where he played 155 matches and helped secure the UEFA Champions League title and the subsequent Super Cup.
After leaving Stamford Bridge at the end of his contract in 2024, Silva returned to Brazil to play for Fluminense, where he had also spent much of his youth.
Last season, the defender made 46 appearances for the Brazilian side as captain, including matches against Borussia Dortmund, Inter Milan, and Chelsea during the Club World Cup, before choosing to terminate his contract early to facilitate the move to Porto.
The upcoming challenges will certainly keep Silva on his toes, especially with competitive matches looming against top Portuguese sides like Sporting and Benfica, along with a significant Europa League clash against Rangers.
Silva’s current market valuation stands at £600k, according to Transfermarkt.
