In a devastating blow to the rugby community, Ventnor RFC player Tristan Price has tragically lost his life in a car accident at the age of 45, igniting an outpouring of grief across social media platforms.

Known as one of the most respected figures in Newport, Tristan was not only a beloved rugby player but also worked as a doorman, where he earned admiration for his professionalism and warm personality.

His untimely death occurred on Saturday night, January 3, 2026, after a lone-vehicle crash involving a silver Citroën Picasso on Whitwell Road. Despite the swift response from emergency services, Tristan could not be saved.

What Happened That Fateful Night?

According to reports from UK News Yahoo, emergency responders rushed to the scene around 8:30 PM following reports of the incident. Sadly, Tristan was pronounced dead upon their arrival.

His employer, Executive Command, highlighted his loyalty, charm, and unmatched wit, recognizing him not only for his contributions on the rugby field but also for his esteemed role as a doorman, a position in which he garnered respect from all those who knew him.

Ventnor RFC, where Tristan dedicated 29 years of his life, took to Facebook to express their sorrow:

"It is with great sadness that we share the news that Tristan Price passed away last night. Tristan was far more than just a player at Ventnor RFC. With 29 years at the club, he was a constant presence, a familiar face, and a true clubman in every sense. His commitment, character and unmistakable personality will forever be part of Ventnor RFC. Our thoughts are with Tristan’s family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. We send our love, strength, and deepest condolences at this incredibly difficult time."

Fans overwhelmed by grief responded to the post, sharing their memories of the distinctively charming “Beast.” Social Solutions reflected:
