Unlocking Hytale: Essential Guide for Early Access Players

After seven long years of development, Hytale has finally made its debut in early access. Although this version serves as a stripped-down introduction to what the full game will offer, players can still dive into many hours of gameplay. The game even supports a variety of mods right from launch.

Hypixel, the development team, anticipates that over a million gamers will join the early access wave. However, with its absence from Steam and console platforms, players may wonder how to start playing.

How to Download Hytale

Similar to Minecraft, Hytale can be accessed through its dedicated game launcher. You can download this launcher from Hytale's official website. The launcher is compatible with Windows, Mac, and Linux systems.

Once downloaded, open the launcher and sign in with an existing account or create a new one. Registering a new account will redirect you to Hytale's website, where you can use your email, Discord, or other applications to create an account. After setting up your account, return to the launcher, sign in, and you're ready to proceed.

How to Purchase Hytale

Now that the launcher is ready, it's time to buy Hytale. The game is not free-to-play; Hypixel, being an indie studio, relies on purchase revenue to support further development.

To purchase Hytale, head back to the game's website and click on the blue "Pre-Purchase" button located at the top-right corner. Here, you can choose from three different editions, each with various benefits and pricing:

Standard ($19.99)

  • Forest Guardian Set
  • Voyager Set
  • Savanna Scout Set
  • Exclusive Standard Cape

Supporter ($34.99)

  • Includes everything from the Standard edition
  • Featherbound Set
  • Scavenger Set
  • Arctic Scout Set
  • Explorer Goggles
  • Exclusive Supporter Capes

Cursebreaker ($69.99)

  • Includes everything from both Standard and Supporter editions
  • Hope of Gaia Set
  • Void Hero Set
  • Pop Star Set
  • Voidbearer Set
  • Exclusive Cursebreaker Capes

Choose the edition of Hytale that best fits your gaming needs. Keep in mind, as this version is in early access, bugs and incomplete elements are expected. However, the developers are committed to adding more content, through both official updates and community mods, alongside regular game patches.

Hytale PC System Requirements

Before jumping into Hytale on PC, ensure that your system meets the minimum specifications. The following outlines both the minimum and recommended requirements:

Minimum PC Requirements

  • OS: Windows 10/11, Linux x64-architecture (Kernel 6.15), or Apple Silicon with macOS Tahoe (26.0)
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-7500, AMD Ryzen 3 1200, or Apple M1
  • RAM: 8 GB
  • GPU: Intel UHD Graphics 620, AMD Radeon Vega 6, Apple M1, NVIDIA GTX 900 Series, AMD Radeon 400 Series, or Intel Arc A-Series
  • Storage: SSD with 10 GB of free space

Recommended PC Requirements

  • OS: Same as minimum
  • CPU: Intel Core i5-10400, AMD Ryzen 5 3600, or Apple M2
  • RAM: 16 GB
  • GPU: Intel Iris Xe Graphics, AMD Radeon 660M, Apple M2, NVIDIA GTX 900 Series, AMD Radeon 400 Series, or Intel Arc A-Series
