The 3.0 update is now available and should automatically download to your device if automatic updates are enabled. If this option isn’t allowed or the update isn’t appearing for you, follow these steps:
Navigate to your Animal Crossing: New Horizons tile in the home menu and press the '+' icon to open the software menu.
From this menu, select 'Software Update', and then choose 'Via the Internet' on the right side. Your console will search for the latest update and begin downloading it.
Once the download completes, you’ll be ready to dive into the new features of version 3.0!
How to get the Animal Crossing New Horizons Switch 2 edition
To acquire the Switch 2 edition of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, you must purchase the Switch 2 version from the Nintendo eShop. Note that this content will remain locked until its release on Thursday, January 15th (UK).
