Yella Beezy stands at the center of a notorious murder case involving the late Dallas rapper Mo3, and his legal team is raising concerns about the sheer volume of evidence the prosecution has presented. According to exclusive insights from AllHipHop, his lawyers are demanding more clarity on the 16 terabytes of material that could play a pivotal role in the trial.
The defense argues that this extensive evidence dump includes a plethora of irrelevant and confusing material—things like unrelated prison calls and lengthy video files devoid of key information. Their assertion? Sifting through all this could significantly hinder their ability to prepare a robust defense.
In a motion filed, they emphasize that the overwhelming quantity complicates their search for evidence that could support their claim against the state’s serious allegations. As the court deliberates, it remains to be seen whether the judge will impose stricter guidelines on what evidence will be considered during this high-stakes trial.
When Is Yella Beezy's Trial?
For those in the dark, Yella Beezy is accused of orchestrating the murder of Mo3 in November 2020, allegedly paying Kewon White to carry out the fatal shooting on a Dallas highway. The charges, which Beezy received in March 2025, come years after a publicly downplayed feud between the artists.
Kewon White was arrested a month after the incident and is currently awaiting trial while serving nearly nine years on unrelated federal weapons charges. Additionally, Devin Brown was indicted in April 2021 for his involvement in the murder and is slated for trial this November.
If all goes according to plan, Yella Beezy's trial will commence on February 2. However, tensions continue to rise as his defense team battles the prosecution over the overwhelming evidence.
