AmaZulu coach Arthur Zwane expresses frustration over Nkosikhona Radebe's inconsistency
Arthur Zwane, the head coach of AmaZulu, has voiced his concern regarding the fluctuating performance of defender Nkosikhona Radebe, labeling him as a significant talent who has yet to fully appreciate his own abilities.
Radebe, a key figure in AmaZulu's lineup, has participated in every league match this season alongside teammate Sandile Mthethwa.
In a recent match, Radebe showcased his skills as Usuthu advanced to fifth place in the Betway Premiership after a win over Siwelele FC at Moses Mabhida Stadium.
Despite his positive contributions, Zwane expressed his annoyance that Radebe is unaware of his competitive edge. This inconsistency, according to Zwane, creates broader implications for the team's success.
“Whenever Nkosi applies himself properly, he shows his quality, and we stand a good chance of winning any game,” said Zwane.
Zwane believes that Radebe's performance is critical to the team's dynamics. He highlighted how the player's energy and decision-making can turn the tide of a match.
“He’s got rare talent, and a lot of people don’t see it. It’s up to him to grow,” Zwane stated.
He noted that should Radebe maintain a consistent level of performance, he has the potential to rise among the best in South Africa and even earn a spot in the national team, Bafana Bafana.
“He can be something else. He is very explosive,” Zwane encouraged. “If he can play like this for the rest of the season, trust me, he stands a very good chance of becoming one of the top players in this country.”
However, Zwane cautioned that inconsistency could hinder Radebe's growth and development. He regularly pushes Radebe to realize his potential, which is sometimes misunderstood.
“Those who have something special that others don’t, I will be harsh on them... They need to focus entirely on football. If they are still at school, then it’s simple: go to school and play football. Those are the two priorities,” Zwane advised.
Highlighting the seriousness of pursuing a professional career in football, Zwane emphasized the importance of commitment and dedication among young players.
