Bully Online, the fan-made mod that brought online multiplayer to Rockstar Games' Bully, has officially shut down just one month after its debut in mid-December 2025. Unfortunately, if you missed out on playing it, you’ll never have that chance again.
A recent post on Discord by moderator Yubari revealed that the entire Bully Online project—including the project itself, its official Discord server, script development, source code, web pages, launcher, and all associated account data—has been permanently erased as of January 14. Additionally, the YouTube announcement for the project has been set to private, the Ko-Fi support page has been taken down, and all other related materials have vanished.
While the reason for this abrupt termination hasn't been explained yet, Yubari mentioned that this closure was not a decision made by the team. SWEGTA, a notable YouTuber and project lead who is an ardent fan of Bully, indicated on January 14 via X that he plans to address the situation in a forthcoming YouTube video on January 21.
Speculation among fans suggests that a cease and desist order may have been issued by either Rockstar Vancouver or its parent company, Take-Two Interactive, potentially due to the monetization of Rockstar assets. More details will likely emerge when SWEGTA shares his insights next week.
This mod allowed players to engage in mini-games, role-play, take part in races, and interact with others online, all while exploring a richly developed environment. With features resembling those seen in GTA Online and RDR Online, Bully Online offered an extensive experience that has sadly come to an end. Rest in peace, Bully Online.
