With the premiere of Season 2 of Prime Video's Fallout, there has been a noticeable surge in the popularity of Fallout games on Steam. Similar to the trend seen with Season 1, players are flocking back to classic titles, reflecting heightened interest.
Data from SteamDB indicates a significant increase in player counts for titles such as Fallout 76, Fallout 4, and Fallout 3. Recently, Fallout: New Vegas achieved about 20,000 concurrent players, a remarkable rise from roughly 8,000 prior to the show's debut.
Even Fallout 3, which typically saw around 100 concurrent players, has nearly doubled its player base, now reaching close to 200. This trend aligns with previous games like The Last of Us and franchises such as Super Mario, which have experienced similar spikes in interest after related media releases.
In addition to the show's popularity, the Steam Winter Sale may have contributed to this increase as many Fallout titles were offered at discounted prices. While this report primarily focuses on Steam and mobile platforms, it is likely that console players are also diving back into the Fallout universe.
As of now, Fallout Season 2 has aired its fourth episode, with four more episodes scheduled to release every Wednesday until the season concludes on February 4.
