Grab the Ugreen SSD Enclosure for Just £16 and Upgrade Your Storage

One of my best tech investments lately has been the compact Ugreen M.2 enclosure. While it may sound trivial, this device can transform any M.2 SSD you have into a spacious USB drive in just a few moments. I've been using mine with a 2TB Crucial P310, and it has been incredibly effective.

This enclosure is currently available for £16 on Amazon, offering an affordable way to utilize old tech while reaping the benefits of a useful gadget at a great discount.

Essentially, this is a small metal box with an M.2 slot that accommodates nearly any size of NVMe drive, whether it’s the smaller 2230 drives found in Steam Decks or the more common 2280 drives used in desktops and laptops. You won't even need an M.2 screw, thanks to its tool-less design. While inserting the drive might require a delicate touch, the enclosure features a thermal pad on top to enhance heat dissipation, keeping your drive cooler.

It is a USB-C enclosure, making it compatible with most modern systems equipped with this connector, including MacBooks from the past five years and numerous Windows laptops and desktops. Specifically, it supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 with UASP acceleration, claiming theoretical speeds of up to 10Gbps, translating to read and write speeds on your SSD of around 1000MB/s. Although it may not fully exploit the read and write speeds of older PCIe 3.0 drives, it significantly outperforms standard USB-C flash drives.

A USB-C to USB-C cable is included for your convenience. It also supports older SATA drives for those without NVMe options. No additional driver installation is required; just insert the drive and connect the enclosure. The build quality is impressive, featuring an aluminum casing with silicone padding for drop protection. My own unit houses a 2TB Crucial SSD for storing Final Cut Pro editing libraries and related media files, and it's performed exceptionally. I also have another unit with a 512GB Patriot SSD salvaged from an old PC, making it handy for transporting files without the uncertainty of traditional flash drives.

If you're looking to upgrade an old SSD into a fast flash drive, this Ugreen M.2 SSD to USB-C enclosure is available at a bargain price on Amazon.
